At Arsenal Soccer Schools Costa Del Sol we are actively promoting football for girls. The success of the Arsenal Ladies team over a number of years, having won 1 Women’s UEFA Cup, 3 domestic Trebles, 10 Premier League Titles, 9 National League Cups and 9 FA Cups, has given girls and ladies football a higher profile locally and nationally, becoming a dominant force in their domestic game.

This major increase in girls’ development and in girls’ involvement in football is helping to ensure a continuous growth, and this is something that Arsenal Soccer Schools Costa Del Sol aim to keep encouraging and promoting.

For this academic year, we are delighted to announce the introduction of Sara Rodriguez as our new ladies football coordinator. She is coming on board to raise awareness and a positive perception of the women’s’ and girls’ game. After a year of hard work we are proudly launching our first football programme for girls at Puertoblanco School in Algeciras and will therefore mean the start of our new community project.

Our challenges are:

To promote ladies football within the area, introducing girls only courses.
To secure increased and long term funding.
To secure regular media coverage which will help raise awareness of the importance of ladies football.
To organize girls’ only tournaments during the school period as well as summer and Easter camps.

Arsenal Soccer Schools Costa del Sol aims to provide football, not only for girls who have a natural ability and who may progress in this area, but also to girls who haven’t really played football much before and just want to have some fun and make friends.
