Montecalpe has been our first school taking part in our academic programmes. Since October 2008, more than a hundred boys have been involved in our training sessions, split into age groups and each group having 2 training sessions per week lasting 45 minutes each.
This partnership aims to run a football training programme whose purpose is to promote the values of sporting competition and boost the idea of “fair play”, and after a year we have seen a vast improvement in many of the young players. Moreover, they have taken part in competitions and are always competing very well and in some occasions even winning:
- Coca-Cola cup 2008: 4th position
- Arsenal 3 vs 3 tournament (London) 2009: Winners. After hosting our very own 3 vs 3 as a launch event for their new artificial pitch the winning team was taken to London and also won the main event.
For this academic year, we have increased numbers with the addition of 2 new age groups formed by the youngest boys from Primaria as well as a team from 1º Bachiller.
